THE ANT AND THE ELEPHANT

THE ANT AND THE ELEPHANT Once an ant was walking home On a brighter summer day Then an elephant came that way Shaking head and ears sway. Seeing an ant on his lazy path Sneezed and asked the ant in wrath O Foolish , feeble ,tiny mite? How do you dare my way to stand? Don’t you know my vigour and might I am hailed the biggest on land? I can shake and uproot trees Easier than a storm can seize I can crack and crush many hills Where many a tiny creature fills What such eminence hold you with That made you bold on my royal path?” Told the ant then tapping ham, “O’great elephant, humble I am I can’t do such mighty tasks But simply do some humble tasks I can ride on you with ease But could you ride on me with ease Ican climb on top of a tree And rest on a leaf, swings in breeze Ican build an anthill well And sit at ease on top so well I can make any big body Restless with a single bite. Could you do such simple things As I do with ease and joy The elephant lost his word and pride So silently he walked away. -B K SUDHA NEDUNGANOOR B K Sudha Nedunganoor, Trivandrum, Kerala

GANGARTHANA

GANGA”S PRAYER
Came down heavenly river Ganga once
Stayed in Lord Siva’s knotty  tress of hair
To sanctify Earth I trickled down as
SivaGanga, a pretty silver stream.
When thoughts of paradise made me proud
I forgot Lord and myself too.
Caring not your greatness all
I embosomed the roars of sea
When down I rushed in thrill to the sea
Careless leaving back your  hair ties
Disinterested you closed both eyes
To withdraw yourself to meditation
Frozen woes you kept in chest
As white and pure stones of snow
Left I Himalaya’s serene vales
To embrace luring city dyes
What flowed into my tender heart
Is dirt of  filthy culture new!
A donor of destroyer diseases I flowed
And reached the depths of blue expanse,
Now a cursed stream I am
Dissolved in rare venom’s blue.
A flower of hidden throes I am
Reeling down in whirl pool waves
Remind I now boundless love
You kept  in heart for me gone days
Memories of thy hair knots now
Make me vex in deep distress
Fragrance of thy enticing smile
Brought by cool breeze from thy vales
Gives me relief rich and cool
That fills my soul, O my Lord!
I feel it fondling of spring  rain
Showered on me ambrosial drops
Rejuvenating medicine for
Healing  bleeding memories in.
If I come back, prideless to you
Could you accept me in tress again?
Could youd cover me with blanket of love

And drip honey on my dejections?

LET THE CLOUD MELT

LET THE CLOUD MELT
A flaming fire inside the heart
Burned a heap of withered blooms
A host of woes that emerged out
Steamed upon the roof of mind
Darkened clouds bordered thick
To choke my throat and chill my word
O my Lord, O Krishna
,O my friend, come so soon!
Let all clouds  melt and flow
Slowly in your warming smile
And make them lovely songs of love
To flow out through my humble flute.

LET"S FORGIVE EACH OTHER

     LET’S FORGIVE EACH OTHER
Only being late to meet,We couldn’t own each other
Woes of loss  in our hearts  became
Frozen  snow now between us.
As  we meet abruptly on the way
I behold the unrest inside you hold ,
To  hide, the love that spills out heart,
Into  a shell of friendship ,in vain.
Like a moth gets sacrificed
At the flames of a night fire,
At  the slay pedestal  of brutal customs
Your love, and that of me too,
In distress ,sacrifice  life .
In front of the corpse  of that amour
Let’s sit face to face today,
Like two phoenix birds,
 Seeking rebirth in memories,
Without complaints,forgetting nothing,
Let’s forgive eachother.

THE ANT AND THE ELEPHANT

THE ANT AND THE ELEPHANT
Once an ant was walking home
On a brighter summer day
Then an elephant came that way
Shaking head and ears sway
Seeing an ant  on his lazy path
Sneezed and asked in  rising wrath:
O foolish, feeble tiny mite,
How do you dare my way to stand?
Don't you know my vigour and might?
I am hailed the biggest on land.
I can shake and uproot trees
Easier thsn astorm can seize!
I can crack and crush many hills
Where many a tiny creature fills!
What such eminence hold you with
That made you bold on my royal path?
Told the ant then tapping ham,
O great elephant, humble I am
I can't do such mighty tasks
But simply do some humble tasks.
I can ride on you with ease
But could you ride on me with ease?
I  can climb on top  of a tree
And rest on a leaf, swings in breeze
I can  build an anthill well
And sit at ease on its top so well
I can make any big body
Restless with a single bite
Could you do such simple things
As I  do with ease and joy?
The elephant lost  his word and pride
So drove his feet for adifferent ride.
